The family counseling office offers treatment and counseling when there are challenges or crises in the family. You can contact a family counseling office directly, and all employees are bound by confidentiality. The most common service provided is talk therapy for couples and families. The office also offers courses and group programs on various family and relationship topics.
The family counseling office conducts mandatory mediation in the following cases:
- In cases of separation or divorce for married couples or cohabitants with children under 16 years old
- When parents who do not live together wish to take legal action regarding parental responsibility, child residency, or visitation arrangements
There are family counseling offices in all counties.

Cooperating authorities
The family counseling office collaborates with health centers in its district, particularly on childbirth preparation courses and courses for new parents.
Where relevant, and with the family's consent, the family counseling office also cooperates with municipal child welfare services to find suitable measures for the entire family. The office also collaborates with schools, social services, voluntary organizations, religious communities, and similar institutions.
